Shared Topography

10in x 10in | Van Dyke Brown Prints

This series is an ongoing archive that sequences varied urban and rural geographic features into an ambiguous topographical location. Considering these features to be traces in a larger narrative of a sites history, contextualizing these traces into a new non-site creates a collective memory of topography rather than focusing on location specificity. These photographs show terrain and flora within urban settings that have been exhausted by foot traffic, erosion, or concrete.
